Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes
The Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes is a part-time, distance
learning course, which consists of 2 days of introductory lectures,
followed by an on-line modular programme.
The major aim of the programme is to provide high-quality
diabetes education for doctors with a specialist interest in
diabetes. This 2-year course is delivered on-line by experienced
health professionals who have an in-depth and broad-ranged
knowledge of diabetes, diabetic complications and related topics.
Throughout the course, considerable emphasis is placed upon
pathophysiology and the clinical management of diabetes and
students are encouraged to actively participate in the on-line
activities and to demonstrate their critical thinking and clinical
understanding.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes was established to bring a
recognised university based qualification which uses up-to-date
teaching and assessment methods and gives access to education in
diabetes for health professionals throughout the world.
Introductory lectures are to be held in Cardiff, Johannesburg
and Cairo for January 2009
