Entry requirements

Candidates should possess an initial degree in Medicine, Nursing or similar related clinical subject.

For additional information please see the regulations for postgraduate programmes of study for diploma in diabetes.

Candidate acceptance criteria

The course is designed for doctors who have clinical responsibility for people with diabetes. In particular it is aimed at those doctors who will be future leaders in the management of diabetes in both primary and secondary care.

The course has been approved by Cardiff University to include all health professionals, but in the first two years only doctors with a current clinical responsibility for people with diabetes will be enrolled.

Pre course preparation

Prior to the start of the course, we strongly advise students to upgrade their typing and computing skills.

Computer Requirements

All the studying on this course will be conducted via the Diabetes Diploma website at www.diabetesdiploma.com. It is therefore essential to have access to a computer with an internet connection and a valid e-mail address.

To enhance students’ experience on-line we recommend subscribing to a fast Internet access service (ADSL or Broadband). This service is available in the UK through BT, AOL, Tiscali and others.

Alternatively, students will be able to fully participate with a standard modem but all on-line activities may be less efficient and sometimes more frustrating!
